Al-Qassam Brigades, an armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Sunday that it will arrange a military parade in main streets of Gaza City.
The group said in a leaflet that the parade will include military shows to celebrate Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and reiterate that armed resistance will continue.
The group said that a senior official of al-Qassam Brigades is expected to address the parade.
Some sources close to Hamas expected the man who would give the speech should be Mohamed Deif, the most wanted Hamas figure by Israel.
The parade, the first of its kind, will be distinctive, and thousands of al-Qassam militants will participate in it, the group said, adding jeeps, cars, homemade rockets and other kinds of weapons will be shown in the parade.
A Palestinian security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, expressed concerns over arranging such a military parade and said that it will be a challenge to the Palestinian National Authority.
