US chief negotiator praises joint statement as "good agreement"

US Chief negotiator Christopher Hill said Monday that the joint statement adopted at the fourth round of the six-party talks is a "good agreement" for all parties involved.

"It is a good agreement for all of us," said Hill, US Assistant Secretary of State, before leaving the hotel for the airport.

"Everybody is the winner. This is a win-win situation. We got an agreement on denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," said Hill.

The fourth round of the six-party talks concluded Monday with the adoption of the joint statement, in which the Democratic People's Republic of Korea agreed to abandon all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs and allow international inspections in exchange for energy aid, economic cooperation and security guarantees.
