Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni's official Website was launched Monday.
The Website (www.norodomsihamoni.net) contains five sections, including biography, news, social activities, correspondence and video. Each one will be updated daily in three languages of Khmer, English and French, according to a statement from the Royal Palace received on Tuesday.
For the time being, only a few items have been published. But in the coming weeks the King's activities since he ascend the throng on Oct. 29, 2004 will be published, the statement said.
Before the King has his own official Website, he has a web page in his father, former King Norodom Sihanouk's Website.
The retired king's Website is very popular and attracts more than 1,000 visitors daily from around the world. For at least three years he has been posting his opinions, historical documents and exchanges with diplomats or Cambodian politicians.
Sihanouk abdicated in favor of his son Sihamoni last October. But the Internet keeps him in the public eye.
The son of Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Monineath Sihanouk, Sihamoni, 52, was a dancer, choreographer and ambassador to UNESCO in Paris.
Since taking the throne, King Sihamoni has used his smile and gentle charm to win over Cambodians, making frequent journeys to the countryside.
