DPRK not to scrap nukes until it gets power reactorsThe Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced on Tuesday that it would not give up nuclear weapons until it is provided with nuclear reactors for a civilian energy programme, said a statement made by a spokesman for the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement was circulated by the DPRK's news agency KCNA. The statement points out that the United States through moves in actuality must prove its recognition of the DPRK's right to peaceful uses of nuclear energy and provide it with light-water power reactors.
