Al Ittihad skipper Mohammed Noor has asked fans not to expect a two-man show from Mohammed Kallon and Joseph Desire Job when the two-big money signings play competitively at home for the first time in Wednesday's quarter- final second leg against Shandong Luneng.
"Hopefully Kallon and Job will be a good addition to the team but while both of them are important they can't do everything alone, as winning championships requires team work and that's what we want to do," the Saudi Arabia international told www.FootballAsia.com.
Fans of the Jeddah giant are expecting a lot from Monaco striker Kallon, Middlesbrough's former Cameroon international Job and Brazilian midfielder Tcheco after Al Ittihad invested heavily to boost its chances of defending its AFC Champions League title.
But despite playing the full 90 minutes of the quarter-final first leg in Jinan neither of the foreign trio could find the back of the net and it was left for Mohammed Noor to get the vital away goal for Al Ittihad, heading home in the 48th minute of their 1-1 draw with Shandong.
Al Ittihad continues its title defence with the second leg of its quarter-final against Shandong Luneng, which kicks-off at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah at 20:15 local time.
