China's Ministry of Commerce ( MOC) announced Wednesday that it will start temporary anti-dumping measures on import of a chemical from Russia, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and the United States.
This is the result of the first ruling of the anti-dumping investigation on import of epichlorohydrin originated from the above four countries.
The MOC decided to take anti-dumping investigation on the chemical December 28, 2004.
After that, the MOC undertook anti-dumping investigation on dumping, degree of dumping, damage caused by the dumping and the degree of damage, and then made the first judgment that there exists dumping in the import of epichlorohydrin originated from the four countries with a degree rate standing at 0.9-71.5 percent.
The MOC said China's epichlorohydrin industry had been damaged substantially, and there is relation of cause and effect between the dumping and the damage.
The ministry said, starting from September 21, 2005, importers shall hand margin money to the customs for import of the investigated products in accordance with the margin money rate fixed by the notice.
