Microsoft takes action to streamline operation
font size

Software giant Microsoft streamlined its operation departments into three to compete more effectively with its rivals Google, Oracle, and Linux, reported the International Finance News today.

A department after the action will focus on the centric Windows products and MSN service, another on the Office system and other business software, and the remaining one on other operation including the gaming machine Xbox. An executive president is in charge of each department.

An analyst with a research institute said these moves proved Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's intention to place more management professionals on senior executive positions as the giant has grown to be a full-fledged enterprise with nearly 60, 000 staff.
