font size

At least six people were killed and more than 20 others injured in two blasts Thursday in Lahore, capital of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, private Geo television reported.

Local police said two bombs attached to bicycles exploded separately in the city on Tuesday morning.

The first blast near Minar-e-Pakistan monument, which commemorates the 1940 declaration by Muslim leaders to create Pakistan in South Asia, killed one person and wounded 13 people.

About 90 minutes later, a second blast occurred in Ichra, a busy commercial district in the city, killing five people on the spot and injuring more, witnesses were quoted as saying.

No one claimed responsibility for the blasts.
