London bombing suspect to be extradited to Britain
font size

A suspect in the July 21 London bombings left Rome to be extradited to Britain on Thursday, Italian police said.

Hamdi Issac, a British citizen also known as Osman Hussain, was flown from Rome's Ciampino airport at around 12:15 p.m. (1015 GMT) .

He was arrested in Rome on July 29 for his suspected role in the failed bombing at the Shepherd's Bush subway station.

No one was killed in the four, near-simultaneous attacks, which came two weeks after the July 7 London bombings which killed 56 people.

Issac fought extradition, but Italy's highest court upheld a lower court's ruling to extradite him.
