US to discuss with partners on response to DPRK requestThe United States will discuss with its partners in the international community on how to respond the request by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to close World Food Program offices in Pyongyang, the State Department said on Friday. "We will be talking to our partners in the international community about what appropriate response there would be to this request from North Korea," State Department Sean McCormack said at a briefing. There are ongoing discussions between the DPRK government and the World Food Program about the matter, McCormack said. Meanwhile, "the United States has had a long history of being very generous to the North Korean people in helping them meet their humanitarian needs," the spokesman said. Source: Xinhua |
