Japan, US to set up joint defense command center

Japanese and American governments have decided to set up a joint missile defense command center by 2009, reported Kyodo News on September 25, 2005.

The joint command center will be built at the US military base in Yokota, Tokyo. It is reported that the command center aims at enhancing detection of attacking ballistic missiles and the commanding capability of missile defense system.
