font size

A bombing attack killed at least eight people on Tuesday at a police commando recruitment centre in Baquba, north of Baghdad, said reports reaching here from Baquba.

Some 10 people were injured in the bombing, according to initial reports.

It is the latest to strike the country's security forces.

On Monday morning, a suicide car bomber attacked a bus outside Iraq's Oil Ministry in eastern Baghdad, killing seven people and wounding 30 others.

"A suicide bomber drove his explosive-packed car into a vehicle carrying oil ministry employees at about 8:00 a.m. (0400 GMT), killing seven employees and wounding 30 others," an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The employees were heading to work at the time of the blast.
