font size

Five US soldiers have been killed in Ramadi in western Iraq, the US military said on Thursday.

The five soldiers, assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, were killed by a roadside bomb Wednesday in Ramadi, 108 km west of Baghdad, the statement said without giving further details.

Ramadi has long been considered by US forces and Iraqi security forces as a hotbed of insurgency.

Now the death toll of US troops in Iraq is over 1,930 since the war began in March 2003, according to media tally.
