Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Attorney General Ahmed Mughani said on Monday the explosion at a Hamas armed rally on Sept. 23 was triggered by a car packed with homemade rockets.
A car loaded with homemade rockets turned over and exploded in a parade that Hamas held to celebrate the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the northern West Bank in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, Mughani said.
"All evidences we have already found shows that the explosion was a result of an explosion into one of the rockets in the car," he said.
Hamas said the car went off after an Israeli reconnaissance drone fired several missiles on it, killing 17 Palestinians and wounding 85 others, and immediately retaliated by launching dozens of rockets at Israel which stroke back with continuous air raids and artillery bombardment on militant targets in Gaza for the past week.
