Five US soldiers were killed in separate attacks in Iraq on Monday, the US military said on Tuesday.
One US soldier was killed in a blast caused by an improvised explosive device in Karabila area near Qaim, during a major offensive dubbed Operation Iron Fist, the US military said in a statement.
Three US soldiers were killed when a roadside bomb went off in Haqlaniyah town in western Anbar province.
Another US soldier died of wounds sustained near the town of Balad, north of Baghdad.
The names of the soldiers were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Over 1,935 US servicemen have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003.
