India test-fires surface-to-air solid fuel propelled missileIndia Wednesday successfully tested a short-range surface-to-air solid fuel propelled missile in Balasore, Inida. The missile named Trishul was fired from a mobile launcher at about 3 PM from the integrated test range at Chandipur in Balasore, according to Indian Defense Ministry. The three-metre-long missile, which has a line of flight guidance system, carries a 15 kg warhead. It is of and has a battle role for all three services with a range of nine kilometers. Trishul, a part of India's integrated guided missile development program, is developed by India's Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as an all-weather missile. Source: Xinhua |
