The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will funds several fishery harbor projects at cost of 10 million US dollars in Sri Lanka, the Daily News reported Friday.
Construction of some of the projects has already commenced and all other projects are to be completed next year, project Director H.N.R.Perera was quoted by the paper as saying.
One of the first projects to be initiated is the fisheries harbor in Ambalagnoda which was allocated 3.7 million US dollars, Perera said.
He said that with creation of new fishery harbors and the renovation and redevelopment of existing harbors customers would go direct to these harbors thereby opening up a new market for fisherman.
