Venezuela to send aid to hurricane-hit Central America
font size

The Venezuelan government will send 1 million US dollars in humanitarian aid and disaster-management personnel to Central American countries affected by Hurricane Stan, Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel said Thursday.

Rangel said Task Force Number Two of the Simon Bolivar Brigade will fly to Central America on board a Hercules C-130 cargo plane, along with medicine, food and clothes.

The number of people killed by relentless downpours due to Stan in Central America and Mexico has risen to 225 and the toll is expected to continue climbing.
