Six US soldiers killed in western Iraq

Six US soldiers were killed Thursday in western Iraq, the US military said in a statement on Friday.

Four died in a bomb explosion near al-Gharmah, near Fallujah, and another two were killed by a roadside bomb near the town of al- Qaim, close to the Syrian border.

The death toll of the US military personnel in Iraq has risen to 1,946 since the US-led invasion in March 2003, according to media tally.
