The roof of an almost- completed multi-purpose school hall collapsed in the Malaysian state of Pahang, local media reported on Saturday.
The contractor has been instructed to halt all construction work and local authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, head of the State Education Department development unit Osman Bakar told reporters.
The supporting aluminum structure and roof tiles of the hall, located in the state capital city of Kuantan, went down at about 10 p.m. local time (1400GMT) on Thursday.
No one was injured in the accident as the hall was empty when the collapse took place late night.
Osman added that the construction of the school hall was categorized as a "sick" project and was being closely monitored.
