Six local people were killed and five others injured Monday morning in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar, a local official said.
"The suicide explosion happened at about 10 a.m. this morning in the center of Kandahar city. Until now six persons including the suicide attacker have been killed, five others were injured," Abdul Hakimi Khan, senior police official of Kandahar told Xinhua.
Kandahar, the former stronghold of Taliban and neighboring provinces of Zabul, Helmand and Uruzgan, has been the scene of increasing militancy over the past six months.
