Foreign labour service cooperation has become a major part of China's cooperation with overseas countries and "going global" strategy. By the end of August this year, various Chinese contract workers that have been sent overseas totaled 3.345 million, and those who are presently working overseas amounted to 547,000.
Reports followed by Ministry of Commerce (MOC) show that China's foreign labour cooperation has realised a turnover of 2.85 billion US dollars in the first eight months this year, a year-on-year increase of 31.6 percent. The accumulative business volume of China's foreign labour cooperation by the end of August this year has reached 33.67 billion US dollars. Currently, the major market for Chinese contract workers are Japan, Singapore, ROK, Algeria, Russia, Mauritius, Jordan, Israel and United Arab Emirates as well as regions like Macao, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and they mainly work in the sectors of manufacturing, building, farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, communications and transportation as well as catering and service.
It is worth mentioning that business cheating has become more and more serious in the field of foreign contract worker service as China expanded its contract worker services. In view of this, MOC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Reform and Development Commission, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Ministry of Construction, China Customs, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, State Administration of Foreign Exchanges jointly launched a special mission aiming at cracking down various cheatings in the circle of foreign contract worker services so as to regulate the contract worker market and maintain a healthy development.
