Angola offers $1.3 mln to national football team

The Angolan government offered 1.3 million US dollars to the national soccer team, the "Palancas Negras", for qualifying for the African Cup of Nations 2006, in Egypt, and for the 2006 Germany World Cup, it is reported on Wednesday.

This information was given by the Sports and Youth minister, Jose Marcos Barrica, in the homage ceremony for the "Palancas Negras" (Sable Antelopes), for achieving the country's first-ever qualification for the World Cup.

According to the minister, with this deed the country will workin the edification of sports infrastructures, so it can be in condition to host international events.
