Wu and other Chinese leaders, including Jia Qinglin, Huang Ju and Wu Guanzheng, watched the successful landing of Shenzhou-6 at the Beijing Aerospace Command and Control Center. Wu then read a congratulatory message from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the State Council, and the Central Military Commission.

The message expressed congratulation and concerns for the hero astronauts and all space workers, urging them to further contribute to China's manned spaceflight technology, and to actively apply space resources to benefit mankind.

Chen Bingde, commander-in-chief of China's space program, announced earlier that China's second manned space flight is a complete success after the Shenzhou-6 re-entry capsule landed safely in north China as planned.
