China's ZTE Corporation has inked a pact with Sri Lanka Telecom Limited (SLT) to deploy its ALL IP based CDMA2000 network with 124 stations to be set up in the island country, a press release of ZTE said in Colombo on Monday.

Fang Rong, vice president of ZTE, signed the pact with Shuhei Anan, SLT's chief executive officer Sunday evening in Colombo.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Fang said ZTE is committed to putting its best effort into the project, and he firmly believes that with professional project management and good cooperation between ZTE and SLT teams, all the 124 stations shall be commissioned smoothly and in time.

ZET, a global mainstream telecommunications infrastructure supplier, is to deploy its ALL IP based CDMA2000 network in Sri Lanka with the country's largest fixed-line operator, according to the agreement.

Under the agreement, ZTE will supply SLT with its end-to-end ALL IP CDMA2000 solution which consists of soft switch-based ALL- IP 3G core network and a full series of ALL-IP base stations that will cover the country's major areas.

After the network is installed by January 2006, more than 150, 000 subscribers will enjoy intelligent network service, voice mail, wireless high data rate services, location based services, Gota service (CDMA based Push-to-Talk services) and other complementary services.

Up to now, ZTE, also one of the largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions providers in China, has established offices in 120 countries, and ZTE's systems are running in more than 100 countries, the release said.
