Kurd judge to preside over Saddam trialRizgar Mohammed Amin, a Kurdish judge was named as the chief judge for former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's trial on Wednesday, according to informed sources. Amin, in his late 40s, was named shortly before the trial begins in the highly-fortified Green Zone in Baghdad, said the sources. Five judges will be on the panel trying Saddam on charges of crimes against humanity. Saddam, who was toppled and captured in 2003 by US troops, would face death sentence if convicted.
