Overseas Chinese residing in Myanmar extended warm congratulations Wednesday on China's successful accomplishment of its manned space mission of Shenzhou- 6 spacecraft.

The message of felicitation was released at a meeting honoring the event, which was attended by representatives from different walks of life of the Chinese community.

Participants said the complete success of the space mission signified one of China's great achievements since the country carried out the reform and adopted the open-door policy. They added that the pride is not only enjoyed by people in China but also shared by overseas Chinese.

At the meeting, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy Yu Boren said people across China are celebrating the success of the space mission, and world leaders including Myanmar's have sent messages of congratulations on the success.

At the meeting, a message of felicitation to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao was also read.
