A record number of exhibitors have attended the 57th Frankfurt Book Fair, the world's biggest annual book show which opened here on Wednesday.
Organizers said that there were 6,700 firms from 110 countries and regions taking part in the five-day show to present more than 100,000 kinds of books ranging from literature to science and from paper books to plastic books for babies.
Eight big Chinese publishing groups, including Liaoning Publishing Group, International Publishing Group of China, Chongqing Publishing Group, have attended the book fair.
The Chinese section has attracted great attention of foreign exhibitors and visitors, with ten cooperation agreements signed in the first day of the show.
Other major exhibitors are South Korea, which is the focus of this year's show, the United States and Britain.
Around 1,000 authors will attend the fair this year to shake hands with booksellers.
Organizers of the fair expect 180,000 trade visitors and book lovers from 115 nations to visit the show.
Every year the Frankfurt Book Fair is attended by about 270,000 visitors.
