Chinese literary master Ba Jin's funeral to be held in Shanghai next week

Chinese literary master Ba Jin's funeral will be held in Shanghai next week, the office of Ba Jin announced Friday.

The funeral ceremony will take place on the afternoon of Oct. 24 at the Longhua Funeral Home, the office said.

Ba Jin, one of China's most respected writers, died at the age of 101 in Shanghai 7:06 p.m. Monday after a six-year battle with diseases.

Ba's literary corpus, including "Family," "Spring," "Autumn," "The Trilogy of Love," "A Dream of Sea," "Autumn in Spring," were viewed as a landmark in modern Chinese literature.
