Sami Abu Zuhri, spokesman of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Sunday that both Hamas and the Palestinian mainstream Fatah movement are closed to reach a deal of honor within the coming few days.
Abu Zuhri told reporters that there had been a series of meetings held in the last few days between leaders of the two movements, which focused mainly on studying the possibility of declaring an agreement of honor.
He said that the agreement of honor, or the covenant of honor aims at deepening dialogue and preparing the ground for reaching a general covenant of honor among all Islamic and national factions.
A draft of the document is underway and maybe leaders from Hamas and Fatah would sign on it, said Abu Zuhri, adding the document would focus on controlling the ties between all factions and the future of resistance after the withdrawal.
He stressed that the two movements are totally committed to reach an understanding and exert efforts to spreading it among all other factions and parties. "I hope that we succeed to sign it within the coming few days."
Meanwhile, Abu Zuhri said that his movement accepted in principle joining a large session of dialogue among all factions that would be held soon in Cairo to evaluate the calm agreement and prepare for the coming phase.
