Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed wing of the mainstream Fatah movement, called upon Palestinian militants on Monday to intensify attacks on Israel.
The militant group made the appeal in response to the Israeli killing of an al-Aqsa Brigades member and a top Islamic Jihad militant in the West Bank town of Tulkarm on Sunday night.
"We reassert that the armed resistance will never stop until the end of the Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian territories," the group said in a statement.
"The Israeli attack in Tulkarm will not go without punishment," it said, vowing "fast and earthquake-like" revenge.
Moments ago, gunmen of the al-Aqsa Brigades opened fire at an Israeli army post near the West Bank city of Ramallah from a passing-by bus, causing no casualties among Israeli soldiers.
Earlier this month, the al-Aqsa Brigades militants killed three Jewish settlers in the West Bank in a drive-by shooting attack, which prompted Israel to suspend security contacts with the Palestinian Authority.
