The number of bird flu suspects in France's Indian Ocean island of Reunion has risen to three, French Health Minister Xavier Bertrand said on Wednesday.

Local authorities on the island said they suspected one case of the virus, a tourist who had just returned from a holiday in Thailand.

Two other people who had travelled with him were also showing flu symptoms, local authorities said.
