China encourages formation of big software enterprise and software export alliance

China encourages and supports formation of big software enterprises, software groups and software export alliances, Shan Qingjiang, vice director of Department of Scientific and Technological Development and Technology Trade of Ministry of Commerce said at the 2nd Xi'an BPO International Forum on Wednesday.

According to Shan, owing to short period of development, majority of Chinese software enterprises are small enterprises that employ less than 100. By contrast large software enterprises in India have more than 10, 000 employees.

The small software enterprises' competitiveness is limited at international market. To win competition at International market, China must have its own leading software enterprises, enterprise groups and multinational corporations.

Shan said the Chinese government and related ministries encourage and support formation of large software enterprise and encourage small software enterprises to form software export alliance. China is planning to cultivate a group of enterprise with annual export over $ 100 million.

Shan said he is confident that a group of big software enterprises and enterprise groups will be created in China within three to five years.
