Three wanted Hamas members return to Gaza

Three wanted Hamas members crossed Gaza-Egypt borders and returned home in Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip on Sunday, Palestinian security sources said.

Nihro Mas'ood, 38, member of Hamas armed wing al Qassam Brigades, was among the three.

Mas'ood has been wanted by Israel for about 14 years. Two of his brothers, also members of the same group, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the past three years.

Residents said Mas'ood managed to return to Jabalya after he moved from an Arab country to another. He had lived in Sudan over the past few years.

Dozens of militants shot to the air to express their joy at the return. Mas'ood was considered one of founders of al Qassam Brigades in the Gaza Strip in the first Palestinian intifada, or uprising, in 1987.
