Erekat urges Quartet to end Israeli offensive
font size

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat sent an urgent letter on Monday to Quartet special envoy James Wolfensohn, urging him to immediately interfere and pressure Israel to stop its offensive.

A press statement issued by Erekat's office revealed that in the letter, Erekat briefed Wolfensohn on the latest dangerous developments in the Palestinian territories and escalating Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people.

Erekat called on the international community to immediately interfere and stop the Israeli aggressions and stop settlements activities and building the separation wall, said the press statement.

According to the statement, Erekat's letter to the Quartet was supported by documents and maps, in which it also referred to an Israeli defense decision to prevent Palestinian traffic to travel on main West Bank streets.
