font size

Two US soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb blast on Monday in Balad, some 80 km north of Baghdad, the US military said.

The roadside bomb struck the US patrol near a US base named Anaconda on the outskirts of Balad, the military said in a brief statement.

In a separate incident, four US soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb attack in Baghdad's southwestern district of Yusufiyah, the military said.

Some 2,020 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the US- led invasion in March 2003.
