China continued to dominate in the weightlifting competition Monday at the East Asian Games, sweeping all three more gold medals contested in the day.
Deng Jianying opened the gold count for China in the women's 53- kilogram category. She heaved 100kg in snatch and 118 in clean and jerk for a winning total of 218.
South Korea's Park Eun-jin won the silver medal with 198kg, and Chinese Taipei's Fang Hsin-tzu took the bronze with 193.
In the women's 58kg, Athens Olympic champion Chen Yanqing had an easy win in her swansong, lifting 146kg in snatch and 180kg in jerk for a total of 228kg, 9.5kg shy of her Olympic gold medal- winning results.
The 26-year-old Chen, who has decided to retire after the East Asian Games, shed tears after the competition.
O Jongae grabbed the silver medal for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with 205kg, while Mongolia's Bayarmaa Namkhaidorj took the bronze with 205kg.
China's three gold came from Chen Chufu in the men's 69kg division. Chen heaved 146kg in snatch and 180kg in jerk to amass 326kg in total.
South Korea's Kim Sunbae took the silver in 298kg, while Japanese Taira Kenta had bronze in 270kg.
China also made a clean sweep of all three weightlifting titles on Sunday. There are a total of 15 gold medals up for grabs in weightlifting.
