Israel shells southern Gaza Strip village

Israeli tanks shelled the southeastern Gaza Strip village of Khouza Monday night, Palestinian security sources and witnesses said.

The attack was carried out immediately after several Palestinian militants tried to launch homemade rockets at southern Israel. but no injury was reported.

Seven explosions were heard in the village.

An Israeli army spokesman confirmed that shells were fired at militants who tried to launch rockets.

Earlier, Palestinian factions failed to reinforce a ceasefire with Israel.
