Tokyo Stock Exchange Inc. suspended Tuesday trading in stocks and convertible bonds because of a malfunction occurred in the transaction system.
The company expected that transactions could not resume even in the afternoon.
The trading system could not be booted up early Tuesday, for reasons yet to be determined, the company said.
The trading of futures and options is not affected. Off-hours trading of stocks and convertible bonds and off-floor trading of convertible bonds are also unaffected, it said.
