Mcdonald's China restructured
font size

Mcdonald's newly-appointed CEO Jeffery Schwartz made first public appearance on November 1 at an agreement signing ceremony. He said Mcdonald's is planning to further enrich its menu by adding new varieties adapted to the taste of Chinese customers.

It is learned that Mcdonald's recently undertook a restructuring. The former southern and northern regional markets were realigned into eastern, southern, western and northern regions on top of the branches. Adjustments were also made at the management level. It means Mcdonald's has begun to deliberate expanding the whole management team and step up its management of China business after its China headquarters moved from Hong Kong to Shanghai at the beginning of this year.

Jeffery Schwartz said while expounding on Mcdonald's China development plan that although Mcdonald's has not analyzed the financial performance of the Asia-Pacific market and cannot demonstrate the importance of the China market to its global development with statistics, it is well known that the China market has great potentials. Mcdonald's will continue to increase its investment in China, not only by opening new restaurants but also by training local management personnel and using more Chinese local suppliers etc.

Since opening its first restaurant in Shenzhen in 1990 Mcdonald's has been in China for 15 years and it has opened over 700 outlets in China by October.
