First Sino-Korean wind-power generation project startedDatang Yumen wind-power generation project, with a total investment of 466 million yuan and a building size of 49,300 kw officially went into operation in the city of Jiuquan, northwest China's Gansu province recently. It is the first time that Chinese power generation enterprises cooperate with ROK in developing wind-power generation project. Located eight km southeast off Yumen town, Qiuquan city and jointly funded and built by China Datang Corporation and Korean Electrical-Power Corporation (KEPCO), which contribute 60 percent and 40 percent investment respectively, Datang Yumen wind-power generation project was equipped with the world's top class Denmark V52 850 kw wind-power generation units. It is estimated that the project will generate 158.02 million kw annually and on-grid power 115 million kw when officially put into operation in August 2006. By People's Daily Online
