Al-Aqsa Martyr Brigades, armed wing of Palestinian ruling Fatah movement, said on Sunday that it supports Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent call for erasing Israel from the global map.
The group said in a written communique sent to reporters that it supports the position of the Iranian president and declared its "solidarity with the destruction of Israel as being God's will".
"We are fully supporting these statements and we are in total solidarity with the Iranian calls as well as the statements made by the Iranian president that called frankly for the removal of the state of Israel," said the communique.
The brigades consider the recognition of Israel as an underestimation of the Palestinian people, who give sacrifices of blood for the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem, it added.
During a conference entitled "The World without Zionism" in Tehran last week, the Iranian president called for wiping Israel " off the map".
His remarks angered the United States and Israel who have demanded the UN Security Council to impose punishments on Iran.
