Under the auspices of State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs and undertaken by China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, China Services International and chinajob.com, the Third Job Fair for Foreigners in China was held November 5 at Hong Kong-Macau Center (Swisshotel building). The job fair was held to help the recruiting units in selecting foreign personnel, satisfy domestic demand for foreign personnel, particularly foreign teachers, foster main channels for international personnel exchange and raise the level of service for foreigners working in China.

The job fair is the largest in 2005 attracting about 50 recruiting units including China Radio International, New Oriental School and China Agricultural University, from various places such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Shandong and Xinjiang. About 500 job positions were offered including language teacher, language editor, corporate management, senior housekeeper and engineer etc.

Over 400 foreigners from more than 30 countries and regions such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Australia, Italy, France, Russia, Argentina and South Africa took part in the job fair. Information about the job vacancies will be available on www.chinajob.com for reference.

Judging by the composition of the participants the recruiting units are becoming increasingly diversified. Apart from institutions traditionally engaged in foreign-related education there are universities like Lanzhou Jiaotong University and Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which recruit foreigners for teaching jobs. Inspired by the "going global" strategy more and more units want to ensure successful recruitment rate this way.

Two job fairs for foreigners have been held in Beijing Friendship Hotel prior to this and the second one attracted about 200 foreigners from 28 countries. Among the recruiting units were 23 institutions including People's Daily Online, New Oriental School, with over 120 recruitment intentions reached.
