Shanghai develops energy-saving and new energy motor vehicle

Shanghai has set developing energy-saving sedan and new energy motor vehicle as the direction for the further development of the municipality's auto industry. On Nov 6, institutions such as Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission conducted discussions over sci-tech development strategy and specific implementation of new energy motor vehicles.

Currently, Shanghai has 42,000 LPG taxis and 430 CNG buses, thanks to which tens thousand tons of pollutants from motor vehicle emission such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide have been effectively reduced.
