German national soccer squad is preparing to travel to Paris for a friendly against France this week despite violence that hit France for 11 days.
German sports officials held a meeting on Monday to discuss the violence. But assistant coach Joachim Loew said preparations for the match at the Stade de France on Saturday were going according to plan.
"Naturally we discussed the situation," Loew said. "But we're sticking to our normal plan."
German soccer association (DFB) general secretary Horst R. Schmidt spoke with his French counterpart Jacques Lambert about the conditions in Paris.
Despite the tension, there should be sufficient security in the St. Denis quarter where the stadium is located, according to a DFB official. Juergen Klinsmann's team will fly to Paris from Cologne on Friday.
