A Russian-made cargo plane with 10 people on board crashed about 20 km north of Afghan capital Kabul Friday, a spokesperson of Afghan Interior Ministry said.

"The Russian-made AN-12 cargo plane crashed in Khak Shahidan area of Guldara district of Kabul, about 20 miles north of the capital. There is no report about the exact number of casualty till now," Mohammad Yusuf Stanikzai told Xinhua.

A joint rescue team from Afghan Interior Ministry and ISAF ( International Security Assistance Force) have reached the place for the investigation and rescue work, the spokesman added.

By the time of the report, the nationalities of the 10 passengers on board can not be confirmed yet. But a person from intelligence service said under the condition of anonymity that he found some documents and Russian Rupees at the crash spot.
