Cambodian royalist FUNCINPEC party President Prince Norodom Ranariddh on Monday met with the visiting Communist Party of China (CPC) delegation headed by Dan Zeng, deputy secretary of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee.

The two sides exchanged views on Sino-Cambodian relations and the relations between FUNCINPEC party and the Communist Party of China, and on other issues of common concern.

Prince Ranariddh, also president of the National Assembly, expressed his satisfaction with the steady development of the friendship cooperation between the two parties. He thanked the CPC for sending its delegation to attend his party's Extraordinary Congress held on Monday, saying it fully demonstrated that the CPC attached great importance to the development of its relations with FUNCINPEC party.

He said that FUNCINPEC party wishes to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with the CPC in an effort to push forward the steady and in-depth development in politics, culture, economy and other fields.

Prince Ranariddh also briefed Dan Zeng about the political and economic situations of the country. He said that thanks to the unity and cooperation between the FUNCINPEC and the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Cambodia now has the political stability and growing economy, and people's living standard has also improved gradually.

Ranariddh said FUNCINPEC and the CPP will continue cooperation to ensure the country's lasting peace, stability and development.

Dan Zeng said that China and Cambodia, two close neighbors with deepened mutual trust, have consistently respect, support and helped each other, and this relationship has stood the test of fast-changing international situation.

This age-old friendship is holding out great vitality and tremendous potential of growth, said Dan Zeng. The development of Sino-Cambodian good neighboring relations is not only the determined policy of the two governments, but also the common wish of the people of the two countries, he stressed.

Dan said that China attaches great importance to the development of the friendly cooperation with neighboring countries, including Cambodia.

China will follow the principle of building friendship and partnership with neighbors, and the guideline of building a friendly, peaceful and prosperous neighborhood to consolidate and deepen the all-round relations with Cambodia, he added.

A delegation of the CPC headed by Dan Zeng arrived here on Sunday for a five-day goodwill visit at the invitation of the FUNCINPEC party and the CPP.
