US Trade Representative Rob Portman said Monday that the textile agreement reached between the U.S and China is a win-win solution for both countries.
At a press conference held here, Portman said that the agreement is good for China because it gives Chinese manufacturers and exporters some certainty and predictability.
"The agreement is a good agreement for the United States as well, " said Portman. "Because it also provides our manufacturers predictability, it's a good agreement, it's win-win."
China and the US reached an agreement on the textile issue last week in London. According to the agreement, the US will set quotas on 21 Chinese textile products through 2008.
