China to launch inspection of poultry products amid bird flu outbreaks
font size

China's State General Administration of Quality Supervision said Monday it will launch a nationwide inspection on poultry products and disinfectants as avian flu outbreaks were reported in some areas.

The sample inspection will cover 16 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia and Hebei, as well as east China's Anhui Province, where the latest two bird flu outbreaks were reported.

The administration ordered its local branches and grassroots to go all out immediately to ensure the "health and safety of the broad masses and normal social order."
