New gas field found in Daqing

A new gas field called Qingshen with reserves of 100 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been found near Daqing Oilfield, China's largest oil production base on land.

The newly-found gas reserves, situated in Songliao Basin in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, has been proved to be of good quality, large and deep.

During the period of the Eleventh Five-year plan, China is going to explore some 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the field.

Gas exploitation circles around world have concluded that Daqing oilfield must have large gas field. Discovering new gas field in Daqing is also a dream of Daqing people.
